SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, November is recognized around the country as 
3National Adoption Awareness Month; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, Illinois' children are its future, and every child 
5in Illinois deserves a safe home, loving parents, and a caring 
6community; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, There are many children whose birth families are 
8unable to parent and give their children the care and love they 
9deserve; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Adoption gives children and their adoptive 
11parents a loving family environment, helping both find the 
12nurturing family they deserve; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Adoptive parents make a powerful difference in the 
14lives of their children by giving them a stable home and the 
15love, attention, and guidance they need to prepare them for 
16adulthood; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Birth parents, who make the difficult decision to 
18place their children for adoption, deserve community support 
19and respect; and

1    WHEREAS, Every successful adoption builds and strengthens 
2Illinois' families, making our State a better place for all 
3Illinoisans; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we designate November 
6as  National Adoption Awareness Month in the State of Illinois, 
7highlighting the importance of adoption, drawing attention to 
8the thousands of Illinois children awaiting a stable and loving 
9home, and promoting public awareness of adoption and foster 
10care.
