2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of
James L. McCabe of Arlington Heights, who |
4 | | passed away on November 23, 2010; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, James McCabe was born on July 11, 1931, in |
6 | | Chicago; his parents were Leroy James and Mary (nee Fleming) |
7 | | McCabe; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, James McCabe was a 1954 graduate of DePaul |
9 | | University, where he played basketball under legendary coach |
10 | | Ray Meyer; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, James McCabe served his country with pride and |
12 | | distinction as a member of the United States Army during the |
13 | | Korean War; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, James McCabe was a retired attorney and former |
15 | | partner of McCabe and Venit in Chicago; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, James McCabe coached numerous youth sports in |
17 | | Arlington Heights; he was also a longtime active member and |
18 | | lector at Our Lady of the Wayside Church; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, James McCabe was preceded in death by his parents; |

2 | | WHEREAS, James McCabe is survived by his wife, Mary Kay |
3 | | (nee Sullivan), whom he married on September 20, 1958; his |
4 | | children, James E. (Elaine) McCabe, Ann M. Tovella, Carol M. |
5 | | (Dan) Zielinski, Robert J. (Mary) McCabe, John P. (Virginia) |
6 | | McCabe, Jeanne M. (Mike) Borta, and Marilyn A. McCabe; and his |
7 | | grandchildren, Kelly, Brian, Kyle, Sarah, Daniel, David, |
8 | | Timothy, Robert Emmet, Maggie, Ellie, Jack, Matt, Will, Molly, |
9 | | Charlie, and Sam; therefore, be it

10 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL |
11 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
12 | | his family and friends, the passing of James L. McCabe; and be |
13 | | it further
|
14 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
15 | | presented to the family of James McCabe as an expression of our |
16 | | sympathy.
