| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Ronald E. "Ron" Herman of Peoria, who |
| 4 | | passed away on November 28, 2010; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, He was born on July 23, 1939, in Peoria, to Noah |
| 6 | | T. and Lorraine S. (Sutter) Herman; he married Mary Ann Suttor |
| 7 | | on October 26, 1962, in Morton; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, He began working with his father's business, Noah |
| 9 | | Herman and Sons, repairing and remodeling homes until becoming |
| 10 | | a carpenter; he founded his own companies, RonWay Realty and |
| 11 | | RonWay Builders, serving as a general contractor for |
| 12 | | residential construction; he then moved into real estate |
| 13 | | investments with the Joseph Company and worked last as a |
| 14 | | stockbroker with Morgan Stanley, retiring in 2004; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, He envisioned and spearheaded the financing for |
| 16 | | many Peoria area developments, such as Tomar Knolls, Longwood |
| 17 | | subdivision, Old Orchard development, Junction Oaks, and |
| 18 | | Hollow Creek apartment complexes; he was a member of The |
| 19 | | Gideons International; he was an adult Sunday school teacher at |
| 20 | | Mount Olive Missionary Church, where he once attended; he was |
| 21 | | an avid fisherman, hunter, and golfer, and was a member of the |
| 22 | | Peoria Home Builders Association and the National Realtors |
