SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Frank Campbell Sr. of Peoria, who passed 
4away on November 30, 2010; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born on February 12, 1930, in Ybor City 
6near Tampa, Florida, to Andrew Lovett and Ethel (Reddish) 
7Campbell; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, He married the love of his life, Gloria Jean 
9Carruthers, on August 17, 1952, in Columbus, Georgia; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, He was the past president of the Tri-County Urban 
11League; and he was a member of Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his 
13brothers, Johnny Campbell and Alphonso Campbell; and his 
14sister, Ernestine Hart; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Frank Campbell Sr. leaves to cherish his memory 
16his loving and devoted family, which includes his wife of over 
1758 years, Gloria Campbell; his sons, Frank (Kim) Campbell and 
18Michael Campbell; his daughter, Angela Campbell-McElroy; his 
19grandchildren whom he adored, Kyle McElroy, Franklin Campbell, 
20Khari Campbell-Wright, and Julian Campbell; and a host of

1nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, including his 
2Tri-County Urban League family; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL 
4ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
5his family and friends, the passing of Frank Campbell Sr.; and 
6be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Frank Campbell Sr. as a symbol of 
9our sincere sympathy.
