| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Vera C. Pratt of Girard, who passed away |
| 4 | | on December 9, 2010; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, She was born on November 15, 1933 a daughter of |
| 6 | | Oliver William and Nellie Joy (Taylor) Sheppard; she married |
| 7 | | Bill H. Pratt on January 11, 1952 in Yuma, Arizona; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, She was a 1951 graduate of Girard High School, and |
| 9 | | worked for 33 years at the Macoupin County Courthouse; she was |
| 10 | | a member of the Virden Senior Citizens, The Girard Senior |
| 11 | | Citizens, a teacher's aide at Girard Elementary School for 13 |
| 12 | | years where she was affectionately known as "Mrs. P.", and a |
| 13 | | member of the Macoupin County Board for many years; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; |
| 15 | | her brother, Gerald Sheppard; and her sisters, Mary Ellen Mason |
| 16 | | and Norma MacKenzie; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Vera Pratt is survived by her daughter, Debbie J. |
| 18 | | (Mike) Marsaglia; her grandsons, Rich M. (Bethany) Marsaglia |
| 19 | | and Eric W. (Dawn) Marsaglia; her great-grandchildren, Kade, |
| 20 | | Rome, Charlee, and Brock Marsaglia; her sisters, Jean (Bill) |
| 21 | | Hatcher and Marjorie (Glenn) Howard; and several nieces and |
