| 3 | | on page 1, by replacing line 5 with the following: |
| 4 | | "4-10001 and by adding Section 4-9002 as follows:

| 6 | | Sec. 4-9002. Cook County board members; change |
| 7 | | compensation. Notwithstanding any provision of this Act to the |
| 8 | | contrary, on and after the effective date of this amendatory |
| 9 | | Act of the 97th General Assembly and until November 30, 2011, |
| 10 | | the county board of Cook County may select to change the manner |
| 11 | | of compensation of all county board members and the Chairman of |
| 12 | | the board for the purpose of reducing compensation or returning |
| 13 | | to a per diem method of compensation."; and

| 14 | | on page 2, line 6, by replacing "Rock Island County" with "any |
| 15 | | county".
