AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 362 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 362 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the 
5Representatives' Terms of Office Referendum Act.
 
6    Section 5. Advisory question.    The following advisory

7question shall be submitted to
the
voters of the entire State 
8at the next general election following the effective date of 
9this Act:
10        During each 10-year period following redistricting, 
11    should members of the Illinois House of Representatives be 
12    elected for terms of 4 years, then 2 years, and then 4 
13    years?
14    The question shall be placed on a single separate ballot.  
15The votes shall be recorded as "Yes" or "No".

1    Section 10. Certification. The State Board of Elections 
2shall immediately
certify
the question to be submitted to the 
3voters of the entire State under Section
5 to the respective 
4county
clerks and to the board of election commissioners, if 
5any, in
their respective counties.

 
6    Section 15. Conflicts.   If any provision of this Act 
7conflicts with any other law, this Act controls.

 
8    Section 90. Repeal. This Act is repealed on January 1, 
92013.
 
10    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
11becoming law.".
