| 4 | | "Section 5. The Food Handling Regulation Enforcement Act is |
| 5 | | amended by adding Section 4 as follows:

| 6 | | (410 ILCS 625/4 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 4. Disclosure; food employee. An individual with a |
| 8 | | contagious disease that can be transmitted by a food handler |
| 9 | | through food, who works in a business establishment dealing in |
| 10 | | the sale or manufacture of food items must disclose the disease |
| 11 | | to his or her employer. The employer may not terminate the |
| 12 | | employee due to receiving this information, but must take |
| 13 | | reasonable precaution to protect the public and comply with |
| 14 | | rules promulgated by the Department to reduce the risk of |
| 15 | | foodborne disease transmission in order to protect the |
| 16 | | public.".
