| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2065 as follows:

| 3 | | by replacing line 21 on page 4 through line 8 on page 5 with the |
| 4 | | following: |
| 5 | | "individual major medical policy of accident and health |
| 6 | | insurance or managed care plan amended, delivered, issued, or |
| 7 | | renewed after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the |
| 8 | | 97th General Assembly that provides coverage for hospital care |
| 9 | | shall include coverage for observation care services |
| 10 | | considered to be medically necessary as covered by Medicare. |
| 11 | | The services are subject to relevant notification on and |
| 12 | | reasonable review and utilization standards required by the |
| 13 | | policy or plan for hospital services.".
