| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2069 as follows:

| 3 | | on page 1, lines 15 and 16, by replacing "25,000 20,000" each |
| 4 | | time it appears with "20,000"; |
| 5 | | on page 2, lines 4 and 5, by replacing "25,000 20,000" each |
| 6 | | time it appears with "20,000"; and |
| 7 | | on page 2, immediately below line 15, by inserting the |
| 8 | | following: |
| 9 | | "(d) If, according to the most recent federal decennial |
| 10 | | census results, the population of a municipality increases |
| 11 | | under this Section, then the municipality may adopt an |
| 12 | | ordinance or resolution to retain the number of aldermen that |
| 13 | | existed before the most recent federal decennial census |
| 14 | | results. The ordinance or resolution may not be adopted more |
| 15 | | than one year after the municipality's receipt of the most |
| 16 | | recent federal decennial census results.".
