| 1 | | AN ACT concerning health.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Community Mental Health Act is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 14 as follows: |
| 6 | | (405 ILCS 20/14) |
| 7 | | (Section scheduled to be repealed on December 31, 2018) |
| 8 | | Sec. 14. Advisory committee. |
| 9 | | (a) No later than December 31, 2011, the county board |
| 10 | | chairman in every county with a population of less than |
| 11 | | 3,000,000, or the township supervisor of a township located in |
| 12 | | a county with a population of 3,000,000 or more, shall appoint |
| 13 | | a volunteer 7 member mental health advisory committee composed |
| 14 | | of members of the general public, if no community mental health |
| 15 | | board has been established in the county or township as |
| 16 | | provided under Section 3a of this Act. This subsection shall |
| 17 | | not apply to townships that currently monitor and address |
| 18 | | mental health needs of township residents by providing or |
| 19 | | funding provide mental health services available to |
| 20 | | individuals and families, and that include the following: |
| 21 | | psychiatric evaluation, therapy, crisis assessment and |
| 22 | | intervention, and case management. |
