| 1 | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 2105

| 2 | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 2105 by replacing | ||||||
| 3 | everything after the enacting clause with the following:
| ||||||
| 4 | "Section 5. The Community Mental Health Act is amended by | ||||||
| 5 | changing Section 14 as follows: | ||||||
| 6 | (405 ILCS 20/14) | ||||||
| 7 | (Section scheduled to be repealed on December 31, 2018) | ||||||
| 8 | Sec. 14. Advisory committee. | ||||||
| 9 | (a) No later than December 31, 2011, the county board | ||||||
| 10 | chairman in every county with a population of less than | ||||||
| 11 | 3,000,000, or the township supervisor of a township located in | ||||||
| 12 | a county with a population of 3,000,000 or more, shall appoint | ||||||
| 13 | a volunteer 7 member mental health advisory committee composed | ||||||
| 14 | of members of the general public, if no community mental health | ||||||
| 15 | board has been established in the county or township as | ||||||
| 16 | provided under Section 3a of this Act. This subsection shall | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | not apply to townships that currently monitor and address | ||||||
| 2 | mental health needs of township residents by providing or | ||||||
| 3 | funding provide mental health services available to | ||||||
| 4 | individuals and families, and that include the following: | ||||||
| 5 | psychiatric evaluation, therapy, crisis assessment and | ||||||
| 6 | intervention, and case management. | ||||||
| 7 | (b) The mental health advisory committee shall identify and | ||||||
| 8 | assess current mental health services in its respective | ||||||
| 9 | jurisdiction, monitor any expansion or contraction of such | ||||||
| 10 | services, and, if deemed necessary, provide a report to the | ||||||
| 11 | county or township board with recommendations for additional | ||||||
| 12 | services. | ||||||
| 13 | (c) The mental health advisory committee shall have no | ||||||
| 14 | taxing authority. | ||||||
| 15 | (d) This Section is repealed on December 31, 2018.
