Chicago Police |
| 12 | | Department, the Sheriff of Cook County, the Director of the

| 13 | | Illinois Police Training Institute, the Special Agent in Charge |
| 14 | | of the
Springfield, Illinois, division of the Federal Bureau of |
| 15 | | Investigation, the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, |
| 16 | | and the following
to be appointed by the Governor: 2 mayors or |

| 1 | | village presidents of Illinois
municipalities, 2 Illinois |
| 2 | | county sheriffs from counties other than Cook
County, 2 |
| 3 | | managers of Illinois municipalities, 2 3 chiefs of municipal |

departments in Illinois having no Superintendent of the |
| 5 | | Police Department on
the Board, and 2 citizens of Illinois who |
| 6 | | shall be members of
an organized enforcement officers' |
| 7 | | association which has no other members
on the Board other than |
| 8 | | the chief of a municipal police department, one active member |
| 9 | | of a statewide association representing sheriffs, and one |
| 10 | | active member of a statewide association representing |
| 11 | | municipal police chiefs the
Special Agent of the Federal Bureau |
| 12 | | of Investigation, the Director of State
Police, a county |
| 13 | | sheriff or deputy sheriff. The appointments of the Governor
|
| 14 | | shall be made on the first Monday of August in 1965 with 3 of |
| 15 | | the appointments
to be for a period of one year, 3 for 2 years, |
| 16 | | and 3 for 3 years. Their
successors shall be appointed in like |
| 17 | | manner for terms to expire the first
Monday of August each 3 |
| 18 | | years thereafter. All members shall serve until their
|
| 19 | | respective successors are appointed and qualify. Vacancies |
| 20 | | shall be filled by
the Governor for the unexpired terms.
