| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Parentage Act of 1984 is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 2 as follows:

| 7 | | Sec. 2. Parent and Child Relationship Defined. As used in |
| 8 | | this Act,
"parent and
and child relationship" means the legal |
| 9 | | relationship existing
between a child and his natural or |
| 10 | | adoptive parents incident to which the
law confers or imposes |
| 11 | | rights, privileges, duties, and obligations. It
includes the |
| 12 | | mother and child relationship and the father and child |
| 13 | | relationship. |
