| 5 | | "Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |
| 6 | | 9-1.5 as follows:

| 7 | | (105 ILCS 5/9-1.5 new) |
| 8 | | Sec. 9-1.5. Advisory referenda. By a vote of the majority |
| 9 | | of the members of the school board, the board may authorize an |
| 10 | | advisory question of public policy to be placed on the ballot |
| 11 | | at the next regularly scheduled election in the school |
| 12 | | district. The school board shall certify the question to the |
| 13 | | proper election authority, which must submit the question at an |
| 14 | | election in accordance with the Election Code, provided, |
| 15 | | however, that no such question may be submitted at a |
| 16 | | consolidated primary election.".
