| 1 | | AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3382

| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3382, on page 2, by |
| 3 | | replacing lines 18 through 24 with the following: |
| 4 | | "economically justified. Each State university shall report |
| 5 | | annually to the Board on programs of instruction, research, or |
| 6 | | public service that have been terminated, dissolved, reduced, |
| 7 | | or consolidated by the university. Each university shall also |
| 8 | | report to the Board all programs of instruction, research, or |
| 9 | | public service that exhibit a trend of low performance in |
| 10 | | enrollments and degree completions and high expense per degree. |
| 11 | | The Board shall compile a report annually that shall contain |
| 12 | | information on new programs created, existing programs that |
| 13 | | have been closed or consolidated, and programs that exhibit low |
| 14 | | performance or productivity, and this report shall be submitted |
| 15 | | to the General Assembly. The Board shall have the authority to |
| 16 | | define relevant terms and timelines by rule.".
