AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3513




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3513 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:



 
4    "Section 5. The Personal Information Protection Act is 
5amended  by adding Section 35 as follows:
 
6    (815 ILCS 530/35  new)
7    Sec. 35. Social security numbers.
8    (a) A person or entity, including but not limited to a 
9State or local government agency or a private entity, may not 
10do any of the following:
11        (1) Publicly post or publicly display in any manner an 
12    individual's full social security number.
13        (2) Print an individual's full social security number 
14    on any card or wristband required for the individual to 
15    access products or services provided by the person or 
16    entity.

1        (3) Track personal or medical data using an 
2    individual's full social security number. 
3    (b) As used in this Section, "publicly post" or "publicly 
4display" means to intentionally communicate or otherwise make 
5available to the general public.

 
6    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January 
71, 2012.".
