Amends the End Stage Renal Disease Facility Act to include in the list of items for which rules adopted pursuant to the Act shall contain minimum standards, a source of emergency backup power at an end stage renal disease facility.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The End Stage Renal Disease Facility Act is |
| 5 | | amended by changing Section 30 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (210 ILCS 62/30)
|
| 7 | | Sec. 30. Minimum standards.
|
| 8 | | (a) The rules adopted pursuant to this Act shall contain |
| 9 | | minimum standards
to
protect the health and safety of a patient |
| 10 | | of
an end stage renal disease facility, including standards |
| 11 | | for:
|
| 12 | | (1) the qualifications and supervision of the |
| 13 | | professional staff and other
personnel;
|
| 14 | | (2) the equipment used by the facility to insure that |
| 15 | | it is compatible
with
the
health and safety of the |
| 16 | | patients;
|
| 17 | | (3) the sanitary and hygienic conditions in the |
| 18 | | facility;
|
| 19 | | (4) quality assurance for patient care;
|
| 20 | | (5) clinical records maintained by the facility;
|
| 21 | | (6) design and space requirements for the facility to |
| 22 | | insure safe access
by
patients and personnel and for |
| 23 | | ensuring
patient privacy;
