| 1 | | AN ACT concerning transportation.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 1. Findings. There is currently a lack of |
| 5 | | information available to State and local government officials |
| 6 | | and the public at large regarding the number and type of |
| 7 | | traffic violations involving taxis. By imposing a duty upon |
| 8 | | circuit court clerks to make this information available, |
| 9 | | governments can take further steps to ensure the safety of our |
| 10 | | streets for both pedestrians and drivers.

| 11 | | Section 5. The Taxi Safety Act of 2007 is amended by adding |
| 12 | | Section 15 as follows:

| 14 | | Sec. 15. Taxi safety reporting. In counties in which |
| 15 | | vehicle citation records are not readily available to the |
| 16 | | public, the clerk of the circuit court shall furnish a list of |
| 17 | | all moving violations involving a taxi or an individual |
| 18 | | licensed or registered as a taxi driver upon the request of a |
| 19 | | unit of government that licenses, registers, or otherwise |
| 20 | | regulates taxi drivers.
