AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 3985 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 3985 as follows:
 
3on page 1, by replacing line 8 with the following:
 
4    "(a) Except as provided in subsection (c), within 25 
5business days after a State agency receives a"; and
  
6on page 2, immediately below line 1, by inserting the 
7following:
 
8    "(c) The Department of Healthcare and Family Services may 
9refrain from submitting vouchers to the Comptroller for the 
10payment of Medical Assistance bills when doing so is necessary 
11to preserve appropriation authority to pay providers in the 
12expedited provider program and when the Department lacks 
13sufficient appropriation authority to process all Medical 
14Assistance bills for payment in accordance with the

1requirements of subsection (a).  The Department shall post on 
2its website an aggregate report of all claims it has received 
3and adjudicated but for which the Department has not submitted 
4vouchers  to the Comptroller and shall provide an online system 
5on its website for providers to check the status of any 
6individual claim submitted. The Department shall post on its 
7website an estimate of the payments it expects to make for the 
8expedited program in the current fiscal year.".
