Amends the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act. Requires any person who witnesses a sex offense committed against a child, as such sex offenses are defined in the Criminal Code of 1961, to immediately report the offense to the appropriate local law enforcement agency. Effective immediately.

| 1 | | AN ACT concerning children.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act is |
| 5 | | amended by adding Section 4.6 as follows: |
| 6 | | (325 ILCS 5/4.6 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 4.6. Sex offense against a child; witness reporting |
| 8 | | requirement. Any person who witnesses a sex offense committed |
| 9 | | against a child, as such sex offenses are defined in the |
| 10 | | Criminal Code of 1961, shall immediately report the offense to |
| 11 | | the appropriate local law enforcement agency.

| 12 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 13 | | becoming law.
