| 4 | | "Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 11-42-15 as follows:

| 6 | | (65 ILCS 5/11-42-15 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 11-42-15. Renewable energy systems. For renewable |
| 8 | | energy systems other than those used exclusively by an end |
| 9 | | user, a municipality may prohibit any renewable energy system |
| 10 | | device from locating less than 1,000 feet from a residential |
| 11 | | area, provided that the regulation is not inconsistent with |
| 12 | | another municipality's zoning regulation.

| 13 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 14 | | becoming law.".
