HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION


 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois General Assembly wish 
3to honor those who have served our country with distinction and 
4valor in the armed forces; and

 
5    WHEREAS, The State of Illinois and the State of Missouri 
6have made plans to construct an additional bridge at a date yet 
7to be determined on I-70 crossing the Mississippi River; this 
8bridge will relieve traffic congestion between the State of 
9Illinois and the State of Missouri; therefore, be it

 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
11NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE 
12SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that the I-70 Mississippi River 
13Bridge connecting Illinois to Missouri to be constructed at a 
14later date be designated, upon approval of the Illinois and 
15Missouri State legislatures, the Veterans Memorial Bridge; and 
16be it further

 
17    RESOLVED, That the Illinois Department of Transportation 
18is requested to erect at suitable locations, consistent with 
19State and federal regulations, appropriate plaques or signs 
20giving notice of the name; and be it further
 
21    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be

2Transportation; the Secretary of the Illinois Department of 
3Transportation; and the Secretary of the Missouri Department of
