| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to honor Master Patrol Officer | ||||||
| 4 | Brian Prochaska on the occasion of being designated the Joliet | ||||||
| 5 | Police Department Policeman of the Year; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Master Patrol Officer Prochaska is a ten-year | ||||||
| 7 | veteran of the Joliet Police Department; he is currently | ||||||
| 8 | assigned to the Department's Joliet Narcotics Unit; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Master Patrol Officer Prochaska has been involved | ||||||
| 10 | in various federal investigations with the Drug Enforcement | ||||||
| 11 | Administration (DEA) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, | ||||||
| 12 | Firearms and Explosives (ATF); and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Master Patrol Officer Prochaska worked 21 cases in | ||||||
| 14 | an undercover capacity during 2010; his work resulted in | ||||||
| 15 | hand-to-hand transactions with multiple suspects involving | ||||||
| 16 | cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, ecstasy, and cannabis | ||||||
| 17 | seizures; he was complainant on 26 search warrants involving | ||||||
| 18 | narcotics and weapons offenses, which resulted in the recovery | ||||||
| 19 | of 26 firearms and the seizure of over $27,000 in United States | ||||||
| 20 | currency; his undercover purchases and search warrants have led | ||||||
| 21 | to 36 felony arrests; and

| 1 | WHEREAS, In addition to his assignment in the Joliet | ||||||
| 2 | Narcotics Unit, Master Patrol Officer Prochaska has served on | ||||||
| 3 | the Joliet Police Department's Special Operations Squad for | ||||||
| 4 | seven years and has been a member of the Illinois Law | ||||||
| 5 | Enforcement Alarm System (ILEAS) for five years; his reputation | ||||||
| 6 | in technical work has earned him praise and credit from the | ||||||
| 7 | Joliet Police Department; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Master Patrol Officer Prochaska's character and | ||||||
| 9 | professionalism are beyond reproach; his dedication to duty and | ||||||
| 10 | attention to detail in the pursuit of justice is worthy of the | ||||||
| 11 | greatest respect; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 13 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 14 | we honor Master Patrol Officer Brian Prochaska on the occasion | ||||||
| 15 | of his being designated the Joliet Police Department Policeman | ||||||
| 16 | of the Year and wish him continued success and happiness in the | ||||||
| 17 | future; and be it further
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 19 | presented to Master Patrol Officer Brian Prochaska as a symbol | ||||||
| 20 | of our esteem and respect.
