HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, Director James O. Breen has been in the park and 
3recreation profession for 38 years, 19 of those dedicated years 
4acting as the Director of the St. Charles Park District; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Director Breen is a Certified Parks and Recreation 
6Professional who has been involved in a variety of leadership 
7roles in the community, including Board of Directors of the St. 
8Charles Rotary Foundation, the Board of Directors of the St. 
9Charles Convention and Visitor's Bureau, a committee member on 
10the Design Committee of the Downtown St. Charles Partnership, 
11Past President of the Rotary Club of St. Charles, the Downtown 
12St. Charles Partnership, and the St. Charles United Way fund 
13drive; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Under the direction of Director Breen, the St. 
15Charles Park district has won numerous awards and recognitions, 
16including the prestigious Gold Medal Award; and


  
 
17    WHEREAS, During Director Breen's service, several key 
18additions took place in the St. Charles Park District, 
19including the East Side Sports Complex, Primrose Farm Park, and 
20the West Side Community Park that is now known as the James O. 
21Breen Community Park; these additions increased recreation 
22opportunities for the community, adding sports fields, a dog

1park, tennis courts, a nature center, and trails; therefore, be 
2it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we wish Director James O. Breen well in his retirement and 
6thank him for his many years of dedicated service to the St. 
7Charles Park District and the surrounding community; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to Director James O. Breen with our gratitude and 
11esteem.
