| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Linda Jackson on | ||||||
| 4 | the occasion of her 20 years of dedicated service on the | ||||||
| 5 | Glendale Heights Village Board, of which 10 years served as the | ||||||
| 6 | Glendale Heights Village President; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, Linda Jackson has been a resident of Glendale | ||||||
| 8 | Heights for 37 years; she was elected to serve as a trustee on | ||||||
| 9 | the Glendale Heights Village Board in 1991; she was re-elected | ||||||
| 10 | to the position in 1995 and 1999; in 2001, she was elected to | ||||||
| 11 | the position of Village President, with subsequent re-election | ||||||
| 12 | bids in 2005 and 2009; she is the longest serving public | ||||||
| 13 | official on the Glendale Heights Village Board and the longest | ||||||
| 14 | serving Village President in Glendale Heights; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, During her career, Linda Jackson has served on | ||||||
| 16 | numerous village committees and commissions; she currently | ||||||
| 17 | serves on the International Day Committee, the Charity Classic | ||||||
| 18 | Golf Committee, the Historical Committee, the Special Events | ||||||
| 19 | Commission, the Christmas Sharing Committee, the Golf Course | ||||||
| 20 | Committee, the Government Agency Partnership, and the Senior | ||||||
| 21 | Citizen Council; she has also played an integral role in the | ||||||
| 22 | development and improvement of numerous public buildings and | ||||||
| 23 | parks within the Village of Glendale Heights, including Camera | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Park, the Glendale Heights Aquatic Center, the Glendale Heights | ||||||
| 2 | Sports Hub, Veterans Memorial Park, the Glendale Lakes Golf | ||||||
| 3 | Club and Banquet Facility, and the Glendale Heights Center for | ||||||
| 4 | Senior Citizens, among many others; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Linda Jackson is a member of the DuPage Mayors and | ||||||
| 6 | Managers Conference, the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus, the U.S. | ||||||
| 7 | Conference of Mayors, the Glendale Heights Jr. Woman's Club, | ||||||
| 8 | the Glendale Heights Chamber of Commerce, the Neighborhood | ||||||
| 9 | Watch, and the Glendale Heights V.F.W. Post 2377 Ladies | ||||||
| 10 | Auxiliary; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, Linda Jackson was the proud recipient of the | ||||||
| 12 | Illinois Woman of Achievement Award in 2000 and the Outstanding | ||||||
| 13 | Patriotism Award from the State of Illinois VFW in 2006; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Linda Jackson serves as a model of hard work, | ||||||
| 15 | integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of | ||||||
| 16 | Illinois; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 18 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 19 | we congratulate Linda Jackson on the occasion of her 20 years | ||||||
| 20 | of dedicated service on the Glendale Heights Village Board, of | ||||||
| 21 | which 10 years served as the Glendale Heights Village | ||||||
| 22 | President, and wish her continued success and happiness in the | ||||||
| |||||||
