HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Jack H. Humes III 
4of Boy Scout Troop 316 of Edwardsville on achieving the notable 
5rank of Eagle Scout; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, A Court of Honor Ceremony was held on March 5, 
72011 in his honor; and
 
8    WHEREAS, His Eagle project was titled "Operation Dog 
9House"; with the help of his troop he built eight dog houses 
10for the Metro East Humane Society; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Jack has been active in scouting since the age of 
129; he earned a Certificate of Merit for noticing a 3-year old 
13child who was trying to cross a busy street and called the 
14police and ensured the child returned home safely; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Jack has obtained numerous merit badges including 
16badges for Advanced Emergency Preparedness, First Aid, 
17Personal Management, Personal Fitness, Swimming, Citizens of 
18the Community, Citizens of the Nation, Citizens of the World, 
19Communications, Environmental Science, Family Life, Camping, 
20Fishing, Truck Transportation, and Wood Working; and

1    WHEREAS, Jack has held various leadership positions with 
2Boy Scout Troop 316 which include Patrol Leader, Assistant 
3Senior Patrol Leader, Chaplain Aid, Bugler, and currently 
4Scribe; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Jack H. Humes III serves as a model of dedication, 
6integrity, and hard work for the people of the State of 
7Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
9NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
10we congratulate Jack H. Humes III and wish him the best in his 
11future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented as special recognition to Jack H. Humes III as a 
14symbol of our respect and admiration.
