HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives recognize the contribution that the Illinois 
4Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and 
5Dance has made to raise the public's awareness of maintaining a 
6healthy active lifestyle; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Illinois Association for Health, Physical 
8Education, Recreation and Dance has worked tirelessly on 
9improving the health, wellness, and fitness of the children and 
10adolescents of the State of Illinois; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, The Association has provided school communities 
12with information that demonstrates the importance of vigorous 
13daily physical activity and its impact on academic success; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Association for 
15Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance will continue 
16to make sure that the children of Illinois become physically 
17educated and health literate; and

  
 
18    WHEREAS, The Illinois Association for Health, Physical 
19Education, Recreation and Dance has designated March 16, 2011 
20as "Shape Up Illinois Day" to help the citizens of Illinois 
21better understand the vital role that physical education and

1health play in the overall education of the children and 
2adolescents of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we designate March 16, 2011 as "Shape Up Illinois Day" in the 
6State of Illinois; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the Illinois Association for Health, Physical 
9Education, Recreation and Dance as a symbol of our respect and 
10esteem.
