| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Amy Zisook on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of her 50th birthday; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Amy Zisook was born to Lois and Edmond Zisook on | ||||||
| 6 | April 19, 1961, at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, and | ||||||
| 7 | joined her sister, Ellen, in the family; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Amy Zisook attended John F. Kennedy Elementary | ||||||
| 9 | School and Edgewood Junior High School in Highland Park before | ||||||
| 10 | graduating from Highland Park High School in 1979; she | ||||||
| 11 | subsequently graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, | ||||||
| 12 | earning her degree in finance in 1983; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, Amy Zisook developed a love of politics and | ||||||
| 14 | government at an early age, beginning with volunteer work for | ||||||
| 15 | State Representative Grace Mary Stern; while in college, she | ||||||
| 16 | volunteered for Paul Simon's first campaign for the United | ||||||
| 17 | States Senate and was hired upon graduation as a fundraiser for | ||||||
| 18 | the campaign; she continued her fundraising work in Illinois | ||||||
| 19 | for Adlai Stevenson III, Richard Durbin, Dawn Clark Netsch, | ||||||
| 20 | Martin Oberman, and Paul Simon's run for the Presidency in | ||||||
| 21 | 1988, among others; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Amy Zisook started her own firm, Amy Zisook and | ||||||
| 2 | Associates in Chicago and raised funds for numerous non-profit | ||||||
| 3 | organizations, including the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs | ||||||
| 4 | and the Chicago Bar Association; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, In 1992, Amy Zisook went to Arkansas to raise | ||||||
| 6 | funds for Governor Bill Clinton's run for the presidency; she | ||||||
| 7 | then went to Washington D.C. to become a Special Assistant to | ||||||
| 8 | President Clinton upon his election; and | ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Amy Zisook served as Vice President of the Chicago | ||||||
| 10 | Board Options Exchange, in charge of civic and government | ||||||
| 11 | affairs; she has been an active civic volunteer in Highland | ||||||
| 12 | Park for the Lincoln School PTA and other charitable | ||||||
| 13 | organizations; she is now the Development Director for the | ||||||
| 14 | Highland Park Community Family Center; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Amy Zisook is married to David Rosen; she is the | ||||||
| 16 | mother of Sarah Rosen and the step-mother of Jordan and Robert | ||||||
| 17 | Rosen; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 19 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 20 | we congratulate Amy Zisook on the occasion of her 50th birthday | ||||||
| 21 | and wish her continued success and happiness in the future; and | ||||||
| 22 | be it further
