HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives hold in high esteem those organizations that 
4are dedicated to improving the lives of their members through 
5an emphasis on education and service; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, District 8 Toastmasters was founded by 
7Toastmasters International during 1940 and 1941; since that 
8time, the local organization has enabled thousands of Illinois 
9citizens from all walks of life to improve their communication 
10and leadership skills; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, District 8 Toastmasters will celebrate "District 
128 Toastmasters Week" to coincide with the organization's 
13semi-annual conference from April 24 to April 30, 2011; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, District 8 Toastmasters has proven throughout the 
15years to be an exemplary component of Toastmasters 
16International, a worldwide organization dedicated to the 
17development of communication and leadership skills; and

  
 
18    WHEREAS, It is fitting and proper that the members of this 
19body should pause in its diverse legislative duties in order to 
20recognize such outstanding Illinois organizations as  District 
218 Toastmasters at momentous times in its history; therefore, be

2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
4we recognize and applaud the history, goals, and 
5accomplishments of District 8 Toastmasters and express our most 
6heartfelt best wishes for a highly successful "District 8 
7Toastmasters Week" from April 24 to April 30, 2011; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to District 8 Toastmasters as a symbol of our esteem 
11and respect.
