HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of  
3Representatives are pleased to honor Carolyn Domineck of Newton 
4for her many accomplishments and congratulate her for the 
5dedication of Washington Street in the City of Newton in her 
6honor; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Carolyn Domineck, who is lovingly known as "Miss 
8D", was born in 1942; she is a long-time resident of Newton; 
9and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Miss D has had a long and distinguished career in 
11music education and marching band leadership in the Jasper 
12County Community Unit #1 school district and St. Thomas Grade 
13School in Newton; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Miss D and her band students won numerous awards 
15over her 30 years of teaching; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Thousands of students not only gained musical 
17skills, but developed pride, confidence, and character while 
18under Miss D's tutelage; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, The City of Newton will dedicate Washington Street 
20in honor of Miss D and her many accomplishments during a

1ceremony on May 11, 2011; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Miss D serves as a model of hard work, integrity, 
3and dedication for the people of the City of Newton, Jasper 
4County, and the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we honor Carolyn Domineck for her many accomplishments, 
8congratulate her for the dedication of Washington Street in the 
9City of Newton in her honor, and wish her continued success and 
10happiness in the future; and be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
12presented to Carolyn Domineck and the City of Newton as a 
13symbol of our esteem and respect.
