| 2 | | WHEREAS, State Representative Monique D. Davis and the |
| 3 | | Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate |
| 4 | | President Obama and the members of his administration for |
| 5 | | successfully bringing Osama bin Laden to justice; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, On May 1, 2011, President Obama announced to the |
| 7 | | world that U.S. soldiers had successfully found and killed |
| 8 | | Osama bin Laden, leader of the Al-Qaida terrorist network; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Through his actions, the President has helped |
| 10 | | provide a long-desired moment of closure for the American |
| 11 | | people and all those affected by the horrors of the attacks on |
| 12 | | September 11, 2001; therefore, be it
|
| 13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 14 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 15 | | we congratulate President Obama and the members of his |
| 16 | | administration for successfully bringing Osama bin Laden to |
| 17 | | justice and honor them for their continued efforts to secure |
| 18 | | our nation and eradicate terrorism throughout the world; and be |
| 19 | | it further

| 20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 21 | | presented to President Obama as a symbol of our esteem and |
