HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are honored to congratulate Newport Township 
4Fire Chief Mark Kirschhoffer on the occasion of being selected 
5as Fire Chief of the Year for 2011 by the Illinois Fire Chiefs 
6Association; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, During his tenure as Newport Township's Fire 
8Chief, Mark Kirschhoffer has been instrumental in numerous 
9innovative projects, including the creation of the Specialized 
10Response Team Training facility, the development of the State 
11Mechanics Team, and the creation and development in the use of, 
12and training for, sewer vacuum trucks for trench rescue 
13responses; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Mark Kirschhoffer serves as the Vice-President of 
15MABAS Division 4 and is the past President of the Lake County 
16Fire Chiefs Association; in addition to his work as Newport 
17Township Fire Chief, he also runs a trucking business; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Mark Kirschhoffer and his wife of 40 years, Pat, 
19have four daughters; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Mark Kirschhoffer is well known throughout his 
21community for his can-do attitude and his commitment to public

1service, his family, his work, and his community; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Mark Kirschhoffer serves as a model of hard work, 
3integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of 
4Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we congratulate Mark Kirschhoffer on the occasion of being 
8selected as Fire Chief of the Year for 2011 and wish him 
9continued success and happiness in the future; and be it

11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to Mark Kirschhoffer as a symbol of our esteem and 
13respect.
