HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the owners of Rip's 
4Chicken in Ladd on the occasion of winning a Midwest Living 
5Magazine top restaurant award at the Illinois Governors 
6Conference on Tourism in Rosemont; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Rip's Chicken is a mom and pop casual dining 
8restaurant and bar in Ladd; it was founded by Silvio "Rip" 
9Gualandri in 1936; Rip's specializes in fried chicken and 
10provides a recognizably unique atmosphere to their customers, 
11which includes its informal menu and casual setting; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Rip's Chicken received their original mention in 
13the fall 2010 edition of Midwest Living Magazine, which 
14publishes over 3,000 "bests"; Rip's was chosen from 860 
15restaurants throughout the Midwest to receive this prestigious 
16award; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, The owners of Rip's Chicken will receive the award 
18during a presentation ceremony on May 11, 2011 at Rip's; and

  
 
19    WHEREAS, The owners and employees of Rip's Chicken serve as 
20models of hard work, integrity, and dedication for the people 
21of the State of Illinois; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we congratulate the owners of Rip's Chicken on the occasion of 
4winning a Midwest Living Magazine top restaurant award and wish 
5them continued success in the future; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to Bill and Dave Rounds, owners of Rip's Chicken, as 
8a symbol of our esteem and respect.
