HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Skokie Police 
4Chief Barry Silverberg on the occasion of 35 years of dedicated 
5service to the Skokie Police Department; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Barry Silverberg started with the Skokie Police 
7Department on September 9, 1976; he was promoted to the 
8position of Chief in the summer of 2005, having served with the 
9same department for the entirety of his career; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Barry Silverberg was instrumental in moving the 
11department into its state-of-the-art complex on Niles Center 
12Road; and

  
 
13    WHEREAS, Barry Silverberg presided over the department 
14when it was recognized by the Commission on Accreditation for 
15Law Enforcement Agencies as a flagship agency, recognizing its 
16extraordinary compliance with the highest of standards; 
17therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
19NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
20we congratulate Barry Silverberg on the completion of a 
21lifetime of dedication and service to the Skokie Police

2    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
