| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Milton R. |
| 4 | | Faurot of Punta Gorda, Florida, who passed away on April 26, |
| 5 | | 2011; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Milton Faurot was born on June 22, 1931; after |
| 7 | | graduating from high school, he honorably served in the United |
| 8 | | States Navy aboard the USS Tidewater and USS Guyat; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Milton Faurot married Marjorie Fischhabor on June |
| 10 | | 28, 1958; they spent the next 52 years together; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, In 1974, Milton Faurot moved his family to |
| 12 | | Illinois, settling in Lake Zurich; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Milton Faurot served as a Trustee in Lake Zurich |
| 14 | | from 1979 to 1991; he took an active role in the residential |
| 15 | | development and commercial development of the Village, which |
| 16 | | led to the growth in population and businesses along Routes 12 |
| 17 | | and 22; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Milton Faurot was the Village Administrator for |
| 19 | | the Village of Lake in the Hills until he was forced to retire |
| 20 | | as a result of health concerns; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Under the direction of Milton Faurot, the Village |
| 2 | | of Lake in the Hills constructed a new Village Hall and began |
| 3 | | its growth in population and business development; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Milton Faurot eventually retired to Punta Gorda, |
| 5 | | Florida, where he continued to serve his neighbors and friends |
| 6 | | as the Burnt Store Colony Association President; and |
| 7 | | WHEREAS, During his tenure as Association President, |
| 8 | | Milton Faurot oversaw the construction of both a |
| 9 | | hurricane-proof recreation center and a wastewater treatment |
| 10 | | plant; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, In 2004, multiple hurricanes struck Punta Gorda, |
| 12 | | including Hurricane Charlie on August 13; during the hurricane, |
| 13 | | Milton Faurot refused to leave Burnt Store Colony, instead |
| 14 | | staying to see after the safety of more seasoned residents who |
| 15 | | could not leave; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Milton Faurot is survived by his wife, Marjorie; |
| 17 | | his sons, David and Darold; and his daughter, Bethann; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Milton Faurot will be remembered by all who knew |
| 19 | | and loved him as a man of decency, modesty, integrity, and |
| 20 | | concern for those around him; therefore, be it

| 1 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 2 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 3 | | we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of |
| 4 | | Milton R. Faurot; and be it further
|
| 5 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 6 | | presented to the family of Milton Faurot as an expression of |
| 7 | | our sympathy.
