HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to congratulate Tom and Lorraine Moriarty on their 60th wedding anniversary; and

WHEREAS, Thomas Joseph Moriarty and Lorraine Charlotte Crawford were wed at St. Brendan's Church in Chicago by Father James Moriarty; the brother of the groom, Ed Moriarty, served as best man, and Mary Morley, friend of the bride, served as maid of honor; and

WHEREAS, Tom and Lorraine settled into life on the southside of Chicago with their growing family; Tom worked for the Funeral Director Services Association of Chicago for 43 years; Lorraine dedicated her life to raising their 9 children: 5 sons and 4 daughters; they have also been blessed with 22 grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, They enjoy spending time with their family at their home in Williams Bay, Wisconsin; they enjoy watching their grandchildren participate in sporting events and performances; and

WHEREAS, Tom enjoys fishing trips and Chicago White Sox games with "The Bad Boys" that have kept him laughing for years; they are proud of their tomato garden that has kept the family well stocked for over 30 years; Lorraine has been a loyal confidant and good listener for old and new friends; she is famous for sending $2 bills out for every occasion; and

WHEREAS, Tom and Lorraine will celebrate along with their children and grandchildren, with the hope of many more years filled with laughter and love; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Tom and Lorraine Moriarty on their 60th wedding anniversary and wish them continued happiness for years to come; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Tom and Lorraine Moriarty as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
