HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Frank Panno on his 
450th anniversary as Alderman for the City of Pontiac; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, He served in the United States Air Force from 1951 
6to 1953; and
 
7    WHEREAS, On May 3, 1961, Frank Panno first took his seat on 
8the Pontiac City Council; he  was re-elected April 5, 2011 as a 
9city alderman; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, He was living on the north side of Pontiac in 1961 
11and kept bugging the gentleman then on the council about what 
12the city was going to do about the water problem; the man 
13suggested that he run for a vacant seat on the council; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, In 50 years of service, he has seen a lot of 
15changes to the city, including the building of the new sewer 
16plant; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, He credits then Senator Bill Harris and 
18Representative Tom Ewing for helping with the sewer plant; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, He was presented with a plant that marked his 50

1years at a recent City Council meeting; and
 
2    WHEREAS, He is the proud father of 8 children; and the 
3loving grandfather of 12 grandchildren; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
6we congratulate Frank Panno on his anniversary and thank him 
7for his years of service to the people of Pontiac; and be it 
8further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to Frank Panno as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
