HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Wilbur Fowler on 
4his retirement from the Eldorado School Board after serving for 
533 years; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, In addition to his time on the Eldorado School 
7Board, Mr. Fowler also served 45 years as a Precinct 
8Committeeman, 8 years on the Saline County Board, and 5 years 
9as the President of the Saline County Cancer Society; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, He has been a member of the Eldorado First Baptist  
11Church for 73 years and has served as a Deacon in the church 
12for 51 years; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, He served 15 years as President of the Eldorado 
14Rector Coal Association; he served 25 years with the Rector 
15Drainage Association; he served 40 years with the Eldorado 
16Lions Club; and he served 10 years as the Saline County Public 
17Administrator; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Mr. Fowler was a farmer for 43 years; he was the 
19owner of the Eldorado Locker Company for 10 years and was in 
20real estate sales for 11 years; he also served 15 years in the 
21Eldorado Community Theater; and

1    WHEREAS, Wilbur Fowler is an example of someone who truly 
2cares about their community, showing that through service and 
3working for others; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
6we congratulate Wilbur Fowler on his retirement from the 
7Eldorado School Board; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to Wilbur Fowler as a symbol of our respect and 
10esteem.
