HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate James Quinn on the 
4occasion of his retirement as Fire Chief of the 
5Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District after 21 years 
6of dedicated service; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, James Quinn has served the residents and 
8businesses of the Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection 
9District for the past 41 years; he began his career as a 
10firefighter in May of 1970; he steadily ascended the ranks of 
11the district, becoming Deputy Chief in August of 1980 and Fire 
12Chief in February of 1990; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, James Quinn has been a member of numerous fire 
14service organizations, including the Illinois Fire Chiefs 
15Association, the Northeastern Fire Chiefs Association, and the 
16Illinois Fire Chiefs Association's Educational and Research 
17Foundation; he has also been a 20-year volunteer with the 
18Illinois Fire Safety Alliance Burn Camp "I Am Me" and was a 
19founding member of the Illinois Firefighter Memorial; and

  
 
20    WHEREAS, The members of this august body, along with his 
21wife, Annette, and his daughters, Shannon and Robin, are proud 
22of James Quinn's great dedication to the safety and well-being

1of the citizens of the Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection 
2District and the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we congratulate James Quinn on the occasion of his retirement 
6and wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to James Quinn as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
