HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Sergeant Edward 
4Mangan on the occasion of his retirement after many years of 
5dedicated service with the Village of Worth Police Department; 
6and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Sergeant Ed Mangan was born in September of 1959; 
8he married Colleen Ann Mangan in November of 1983; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Ed and Colleen Mangan are the proud parents of 
10three children, Riley, Bill, and Eddy; their son, Bill, 
11currently serves in the United States Air Force; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Ed Mangan was hired by the Village of Worth Police 
13Department on February 20, 1989; he graduated from the Chicago 
14Police Academy on July 9, 1989; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Ed Mangan proudly served in the Patrol and 
16Investigations Divisions, where he was promoted to Sergeant of 
17Police on December 5, 2006; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Ed Mangan has received several awards, including 
19numerous commendations, honorable mentions, and letters of 
20recognition for his dedicated and professional service; and

1    WHEREAS, Ed Mangan has faithfully served the residents of 
2the Village of Worth for 22 years and seven months; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Ed Mangan will retire from the Worth Police 
4Department on October 1, 2011; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we congratulate Sergeant Ed Mangan on his retirement, thank him 
8for his many years of service protecting his community, and 
9wish him and his family many years of happiness to come; and be 
10it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to Ed Mangan as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
