| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Georgia Winson on |
| 4 | | her many accomplishments; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Georgia Winson has served with the Hope Institute |
| 6 | | for Children and Families since 2003 as chief administrator of |
| 7 | | the Autism Program of Illinois; she also serves as the vice |
| 8 | | president and chief clinician at the Hope Institute; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, During her tenure at the Hope Institute, Georgia |
| 10 | | Winson diligently and selflessly supported families of |
| 11 | | children with autism spectrum disorders and other disabilities |
| 12 | | through numerous channels, including direct services, |
| 13 | | training, public policy, system development, and State and |
| 14 | | national outreach; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Georgia Winson fostered the creation and growth of |
| 16 | | the Autism Program of Illinois, the largest state-wide network |
| 17 | | of services in the country for the support of children with |
| 18 | | autism spectrum disorders; she worked alongside State and |
| 19 | | federal policymakers to ensure appropriate services and |
| 20 | | support for the growing population of children and adults with |
| 21 | | autism; and

| 1 | | WHEREAS, In addition to developing the system model for the |
| 2 | | Autism Program of Illinois, Georgia Winson convened the |
| 3 | | Intersect for Ability network, which comprises 11 agencies in |
| 4 | | Chicago that work in cooperation to improve the quality of life |
| 5 | | for adults with developmental disabilities and advocate for |
| 6 | | integrated community employment opportunities for adults of |
| 7 | | all abilities; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Through her leadership at the Hope Institute for |
| 9 | | Children and Families, Georgia Winson fostered the highest |
| 10 | | standards of treatment based on best practice and mentored a |
| 11 | | highly educated and caring staff, thereby providing an |
| 12 | | enriching environment for children with multiple disabilities |
| 13 | | to learn, grow, and develop into their best selves; and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Because of her immense dedication and service to |
| 15 | | the disabled community in Illinois, Georgia Winson's |
| 16 | | contributions will continue to shape care, community |
| 17 | | involvement, and legislation for many future generations; |
| 18 | | therefore, be it

| 19 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 20 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
