HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to recognize Gregory Brunst on his 
4retirement as Public Works Director with the Village of 
5Addison; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, He was hired by the Village of Addison on May 5, 
71969 as an operator trainee in the Water Pollution Control 
8Department; he became plant operator in 1970, lead operator in 
91972, foreman in 1976, and was appointed Superintendent of 
10Water Pollution Control in 1983; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, In 1990, he became Director of the Environmental 
12Services Department; in 2005, the Public Works and 
13Environmental Services departments were reorganized and he was 
14appointed Public Works Director; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, He currently serves as Chairman and Northeast 
16Sectional Representative on the Illinois Environmental 
17Protection Agency Operator Board of Certification; he is a past 
18president of the Illinois Association of Water Pollution 
19Control Operators and Illinois Water Environmental 
20Association; and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, He has been recognized with the 1995 United States

1Environmental Protection Agency Operation and Maintenance 
2Excellence Award, the 1989 Illinois Environmental Protection 
3Agency Outstanding Operator of the Year, the 1994 Illinois 
4Environmental Protection Agency Class A Facility Award, the 
51995 Illinois Water Environmental Association Quarter Century 
6Operators Club, the 2008 Central States Water Environment 
7Association Treatment Facility Operations Award, and many 
8other awards as well; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Mr. Brunst will retire on November 30, 2011; 
10therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
12NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
13we congratulate Gregory Brunst on his retirement and wish him 
14the best in his future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to Gregory Brunst as a symbol of our respect and 
17esteem.
