HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Judy 
4Hoffman, who passed away on July 18, 2011; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Judy Hoffman was a humanitarian, community 
6advocate, and great friend to Rich Township for many years; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Judy Hoffman married her husband, Manny, in 1958; 
8in 1963, they moved to Homewood and began building the Hoffman 
9State Farm Insurance Agency; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Judy Hoffman served as the first chairman of the 
11Cancer Support Board; she was also a board member of the Abby 
12Foundation, the South Suburban Family Shelter, and many other 
13organizations that benefit women, children, and families; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Judy Hoffman and her husband were inducted into 
15the Homewood Hall of Fame; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Judy Hoffman was the recipient of the Cancer 
17Support Center's Spirit of Life Award in 2008 for making a 
18difference in the lives of people facing cancer; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Judy Hoffman will be fondly remembered by all who

1knew and loved her for her dedication and involvement in her 
2community; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of 
6Judy Hoffman; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Judy Hoffman as an expression of our 
9sympathy.
