HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to honor Boy Scout Troop 3707, of 
4the Allen Metropolitan CME Church in Chicago, for the example 
5they are setting in their community; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The young men of Troop 3707 have shown a love for 
7their community by participating in neighborhood clean-up 
8projects in the 9th and 34th wards of the City of Chicago and 
9by motivating others in the community to support or join their 
10troop; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, These young men have had exceptional grades in 
12school, with over 96% of the troops earning A's and B's on 
13their midterm report cards; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Troop members participated in, and placed 3rd, in 
15the 11th annual Pinewood Derby, hosted by the Chicago Auto Show 
16in February of 2011; and they represented Allen Metropolitan 
17CME Church in 2 parades, the 41st annual Jackie Robinson Parade 
18and the 82nd annual Bud Billiken Parade; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, They received recognition from the Chicago Police 
20Department C.A.P.S. officer, Commander Ronald Holt; and

1    WHEREAS, Because of their example, troop enrollment 
2increased by 10% in August of 2011; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we congratulate Boy Scout Troop 3707 on being an example to 
6other young men in their community and shining as Boy Scouts in 
7both word and deed; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to Boy Scout Troop 3707 as a symbol of our respect 
10and esteem.
