HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the students at 
4Nettle Creek School District 24C on their outstanding Illinois 
5Standardized Achievement Test (ISAT) results; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS,   In 2010, Nettle Creek had 99% of their students 
7meet or exceed the Illinois State Learning Standards in Reading 
8and Math on the ISAT; this year the school increased the 
9percentage of students exceeding on the test from 52% to 69%; 
10and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, The results from the 2010 test scores showed a 1% 
12increase from last year in the number of students meeting or 
13exceeding the State standards in reading and math; even more 
14impressive was the 17% jump in the number of Nettle Creek 
15students in the  "exceeds" category; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Because of the hard work and dedication of fifth 
17grade teacher Colleen Callahan, all but one fifth grader from 
18last year exceeded the scores in reading; and

  
 
19    WHEREAS, Current and former students from Nettle Creek 
20School are to be commended for accomplishing so much in regards 
21to their ISAT scores; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
2NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
3we congratulate the students at Nettle Creek School District 
424C on their outstanding Illinois Standardized Achievement 
5Test results and designate November 15, 2011 as Nettle Creek 
6School Day in the State of Illinois; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to District Superintendent Dr. Peter J. Pasteris as a 
9symbol of our respect and esteem.
