HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Sarah Fine-Koukol 
4of St. Vincent Ferrer School in River Forest, on being named 
5the 2011 Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom Teacher of the 
6Year by the Illinois Agriculture in the Classroom Program; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, She will receive a plaque and a trip to the 2012 
8National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference in Loveland, 
9Colorado; she is also the nominees for the National Excellence 
10in Teaching Agriculture Award; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, She teaches fourth grade at St. Vincent Ferrer 
12School; students, parents, faculty members, and community 
13members have all been impacted by the agricultural activities 
14that she employs in the classroom; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, She used the Classroom Adopt-A-Classroom Program, 
16a pen-pal program that partnered students with a farm writer; 
17her class was able to communicate with their farmer through 
18letters and video exchanges; her class was later able to visit 
19the farm, 2 hours away from the school; and

  
 
20    WHEREAS, Sarah Fine-Koukol teaches her students the 
21importance of American agriculture on a daily basis and is

1truly deserving of this award; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
3NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
4we congratulate Sarah Fine-Koukol on this honor and wish her 
5continued success in her future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to Sarah Fine-Koukol as a symbol of our respect and 
8esteem.
