| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate Reverend Dr. Ahmad | ||||||
| 4 | R. Boyd on his one year anniversary as pastor of LeClaire | ||||||
| 5 | Missionary Baptist Church; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Reverend Dr. Ahmad R. Boyd was born on June 2, | ||||||
| 7 | 1984 to Marty Boyd and Michelle Davis; he is a second | ||||||
| 8 | generation preacher, son of Pastor Marty Boyd; he was ordained | ||||||
| 9 | as a Minister of the Gospel on November 25, 2001 by the late | ||||||
| 10 | Pastor George E. Liggins in Chicago; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, On June 12, 2010, Reverend Boyd was appointed as | ||||||
| 12 | the interim pastor of LeClaire Missionary Baptist Church and | ||||||
| 13 | served as interim pastor for 6 months; on December 4, 2010, | ||||||
| 14 | Reverend Boyd was officially elected as pastor of LeClaire | ||||||
| 15 | Missionary Baptist Church; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, Dr. Boyd is the founder and President of | ||||||
| 17 | P.R.E.A.C.H. Ministerial network, "Preparing, Reaching, | ||||||
| 18 | Equipping, Ambassadors, Committed to Holiness"; this network | ||||||
| 19 | designed to skillfully encourage, equip, and empower pastors, | ||||||
| 20 | ministers, and leaders; and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, He received his associate's degree in biblical | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | studies from Jones Bible Institute; he obtained his Bachelor's | ||||||
| 2 | degree in biblical studies from Midwest Theological Seminary in | ||||||
| 3 | Schererville, Indiana; upon recommendation from the Board of | ||||||
| 4 | Trustees, the Dean, and the faculty of Midwest Theological | ||||||
| 5 | Seminary, Reverend Boyd was chosen to receive a "Humanitarian | ||||||
| 6 | Doctorate Degree in Ministry"; as a prerequisite to receiving | ||||||
| 7 | this degree, he had to complete a 20,000 word dissertation on | ||||||
| 8 | theology, present 3 letters of recommendation from pastors, and | ||||||
| 9 | complete an "ALE" (accumulative life experience portfolio of | ||||||
| 10 | all certificates, awards, and life experience in the ministry); | ||||||
| 11 | and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Dr. Boyd has an exuberant passion for preaching; | ||||||
| 13 | he is an avid reader; he is known for his quotes, quips, and | ||||||
| 14 | storytelling; his motto is, "A Slave of God, A Servant of | ||||||
| 15 | People"; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 16 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 17 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 18 | we congratulate Reverend Dr. Boyd on this anniversary occasion | ||||||
| 19 | and wish him continued success in the future; and be it further
| ||||||
| 20 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 21 | presented to Reverend Dr. Ahmad Boyd as a symbol of our respect | ||||||
| 22 | and esteem.
