HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Mr. Fred Kimble, 
4Economic Development Director and Assistant Village Manager as 
5well as Village Liaison to the Westmont Chamber of Commerce and 
6Tourism Bureau Board of Directors, on his retirement; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, He served from 2003 to 2011 as the Assistant 
8Village Manager/Economic Development Director for the Village 
9of Westmont; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, He had previously worked for the Illinois 
11Department on Aging, the Illinois Department of Commerce and 
12Community Affairs, and as    Mayor for the City of Galesburg; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, He is a member of the DuPage Mayors and Managers 
14Conference, the State Legislative Committee, the Illinois 
15Municipal League State Legislative Committee, the Board of 
16Directors for the  Westmont Chamber of Commerce, the City of 
17Springfield "Springfield 20/20" Strategic Plan, and the Sub 
18Committee for Commerce and Industry; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, In addition, he has served as an alderman for the 
20City of Galesburg, Vice President of the  Illinois Municipal 
21League, as a member of the  Small Cities Council, as a member of

1the National League of Cities, on the Board of Directors for 
2the Peoria Multi County Drug Enforcement Unit, on the Board of 
3Directors for the Carl Sandburg College Foundation, on the 
4Board of Directors for the Knox-Galesburg Economic Development 
5Council, and as President of the United Way of Knox County; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, He was honored at a reception on November 14, 
72011; therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
9NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
10we congratulate Fred Kimble on his retirement and wish him the 
11best in his future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to Fred Kimble as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
