HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Shirley 
4Nordigian of Wadsworth, who passed away on December 3, 2011; 
5and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, She was born August 24, 1936 in North Chicago and 
7remained a lifelong area resident; she was a member of St. Paul 
8Armenian Apostolic Church and had been church treasurer; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, She always prepared Sunday dinner for her family 
10and loved to bake, known by family and friends as the "Cookie 
11Grandma"; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, She had worked in the office of Dr. Kweder for 18 
13years and had also been co-owner of Lanthans Front Room in 
14Downtown Waukegan; she was involved in the family business, 
15NORSTAN, and served as corporate secretary; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles 
17Nordigian; her parents, Henry and Doris (nee Auger) Korybyski; 
18her sisters, Helen Andrzejewski, Patricia Jones, Paula Mitten; 
19and her son-in-law, Steve Munson; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Shirley Nordigian is survived by her children,

1former State Representative Ruth Munson, John (Deloris) 
2Nordigian, Mark (Corinne) Nordigian, and Matt (Lori) 
3Nordigian; her sister, Donna (Rich) Weland; her 16 
4grandchildren; and her 3 great-grandchildren; as well as 
5numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
7NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
8we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of 
9Shirley Nordigian; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Shirley Nordigian as a symbol of our 
12sincere sympathy.
